Welcome to my website! This will have information about things, I am hosting and projects I am working on.
Hello, I am Brandon, a graduate student in Eletrical Engineering at the University of Idaho. This paragrah will be a summary of who I am and what I am intested in. To sum up my interests, I would say I am interested in anything digital. I am also interested in physics, specificly quantum mechanics. I also like to paddeboard, ski, scuba dive, play video games, server hosting, go for hikes, bake, cook, and have been messing around with ham radio. As I want to make this "about me" as comprehensive about myself, the following paragrams will expand on who I am and what I am interested in.
My thesis is on Singal Eletron Transistor Simulation. This is done in python and the goal is to do this in 2D and 3D space. The idea at the moment is to see how particles (simulated with the shrodinger equation) using the Finite Differance Time Domain (FDTD) method interact with a metal model. I will add a part of the website eventually to graphs and such. I also am interested in digial design (FPGA and ASIC) though most of my experance with this is with FPGAs in classes. I also have an interest with networking, self hosting, as this website is an example of. I have also done a bit of microcontroller coding/firmware devopment and have enjoyed that.One thing I would like to reasearch in the future more is computer architecture. From one of my classes, I have found it intesting though I would like to look into it more with less of a security focus.
Some of my hobbies include skiing, hiking, diving, video games, baking, cooking, paddleboarding, and ham radios. I have not done too much with ham radios, though have messed with them a little bit. I try to do a bit of skiing thoughout the year. I have gone up to Lookout a lot - I like to buy the student pass. I have also skied, Brundage, Tamerack, and Silver. I would say I am itermediate/advanced at skiing. I have not done much skiing as of resent as I have not had anyone to go with and its really hard to motivite myself to do a two and a half hour drive up to Lookout. I also enjoy hiking on the weekends. I have not done too much as I have been resently trying to go more. As of now, I have been going to areas around Moscow. I really want to explore Moscow mountain as I want to try and find Morells there. I don't really like walking around the woods by myself and as such would prefer to go with someone. I have been getting into diving. I got certified last year and have been diving with "Seattle Dive Tours" with a couple of friends. I have about 6 dives at "Seacrest Cove 2" with them. I enjoy some video games when I have time. I would say I play a bit of everything besides hyper competive games, or FPSes. I really like Rougle likes. I have played a bit of Silk Song and want to finish that. I really liked Hollow Knight and was looking forward to Silk Song comming out. Risk of Rain 2 is one of my favorate games. I have a lot of hours in it and return to it every so often. I also have a lot of hours in Factorio. Other games I have enjoyed are Stardew, Minecraft, and Subnautica. I like to do a lot of cooking. It is somthing to do with my hands at the end of the day. My favorite thing I have cooked is spegetti from scratch. I am always interested in learning more about cooking. This goes the same for baking. I have been trying to cook a good sourdough bread, but it always comes out really dence. The one thing I have made that I am really happy with is a cheesecake. The last thing I will mention is paddleboarding. I got into it last summer as I saw how easy it was to inflate and carry one around when drifting the Boise river. I am hoping to do more of it this summer.
